Mt. Ashland Guests Extend Season
The Pear Blossom parade, coupled with a multitude of spring activities weren’t enough to deter skiers and snowboarders from meeting Mt. Ashland’s spring challenge. The ski area promised to extend the ski season by one weekend if at least 1,500 guests visited the ski area on April 10-11, the last regularly scheduled days for the 2009-10 season. At 1:15pm today, Kim Clark, the ski area’s general manger made the announcement that the area had surpassed the 1,500 visitation mark.
The ski area will operate April 17-18 from 9am to 4pm with four chairlifts, ski and snowboard rentals, and food and beverage services. At least one line in the Center Stage terrain park will be open, conditions permitting. The ski area will not offer lessons, or ski check services.
This is the third year in a row that skiers and riders have met the challenge to extend the season. Limited season pass holders can use their pass on the bonus weekend at no charge, normally a $20 fee.
