The 2018 Oregon Cancer Bike Out Ashland event has been renamed Rabbit Ears to Beers. The new name is in honor of the iconic descent from the “Rabbit Ears” rock outcropping down the Time Warp trail and back to Ashland’s Caldera Brewing Company for refreshments.
This is a fundraising event dedicated to supporting cancer research and care for cancer patients. The full list of event beneficiaries is located here.
The event includes two 4,600-foot shuttled descents from Mt. Ashland to Lithia Park in Ashland, Oregon. Single track trails for the first shuttled route (meet at 10am at Caldera Bewery on Clover Lane) include: Bull Gap, Missing Link, Catwalk, Toothpick, Lizard, and Jabberwocky. There is approximately 800 feet of climbing near the upper portion on the route.
Full event registration includes lunch after the first descent at Caldera Tap Room on Water Street.
The second shuttle departs from the Ashland Skate Park at 1:30 and includes the Rabbit Ears Trail, Time Warp, Catwalk, and Toothpick trails.
This event requires strong intermediate mountain biking riding ability.
Caldera Brewing will be hosting the reception and dinner for celebrating the success in raising money and having some serious fun in the process. Visit their Facebook page for current information and details.
