See You This Summer!

Kiddos now have the opportunity to make friends and explore all Mt. Ashland has to offer during the summer season. Campers can expect a week of hiking, games, nature, arts & crafts, exploration, and observation, with transportation included. Week-long day camps take place from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM in June, July, and August.

What to Expect:

  • Hiking: Guided nature hikes with storytelling, scavenger hunts, and wildlife observation to explore the unique flora and fauna of Mt. Ashland.
  • Games: High-energy games and sports like Corn Hole, Disc Golf, Spray Bottle Tag, and Water Relay Races, designed to keep kids active and engaged.
  • Nature Exploration: Activities such as building Fairy Forts and Gnome Homes, wildlife identification, and survival skills training.
  • Arts & Crafts: Creative projects including rock painting, nature frames, insect gliders, and ice dyeing, allowing kids to express their artistic talents using natural materials.
  • Science Activities: Fun and educational experiments like Mentos in Coke, sink or float challenges, and learning about fire science and ice dyeing.
  • Observation and Learning: Leave No Trace education, bird watching, tree identification, and eco-art projects to foster a love for nature and environmental stewardship.

Each day will include a selection of these activities, carefully chosen based on factors such as weather conditions, camper preferences, and group dynamics, ensuring a fun, safe, and enriching experience for all participants.

 

Transportation Included: This camp includes safe and convenient transportation between our business office and the Mt. Ashland Lodge, ensuring a stress-free experience for parents and an enjoyable journey for kids. During the ride, campers will stay entertained with engaging games and sing-alongs.

What to Bring - What NOT to Bring

REQUIRED:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle (we have plenty of drinking water available)
  • Backpack
  • Packed lunch and snacks
  • A warm/water resistant layer – the weather at Mt Ashland tends to change quickly
  • Wearing clothing that can get dirty
  • Wearing sneakers or strapped athletic sandal (No Flip Flops)
  • Emergency Medicines (inhaler, epi pen, etc.)

RECOMMENDED ITEMS:

  • Hat
  • Sunglasses with UV protection
  • Change of clothes (in case of accident, wet/dirty activity, etc.)
  • Bug Spray

PLEASE NO:

  • Valuable or sentimental items that could get lost or damaged
  • Toys or games, as this could cause distractions or conflicts among campers
  • Electronic gadgets like video games, tablets, or laptops. If campers choose to bring a cell phone, we request that it remain stowed in their backpack, except for essential medical or emergency purposes.

Are single day visits or private one-time group visits available?

Yes! We will continue to offer Youth Adventure Days in addition to the Alpine Adventure Camp, this time with transportation! For more info, please see: Youth Adventure Days.

What if the dates we are available are not being offered for Alpine Adventure Camp, but we really would like to take part? Is there a solution?

Yes! We will continue to offer Youth Adventure Days in addition to the Alpine Adventure Camp, this time with transportation! Single day visits will be offered as an all day session, dates TBA. For more info and details on private one-time group visits, please reach out to our Summer Program Coordinator, Kolya Schubert.

Is lunch included?

No, lunch is not provided during the summer day camps. Children are required to bring their own packed lunch to enjoy during the camp day. This policy helps keep the camp costs reasonable and allows parents to accommodate their child’s dietary preferences and restrictions easily.

What is the age criteria or restrictions for participation in this camp?

We are required to enforce age limits to ensure youth protection and effective risk management. The age limit is determined by your child’s age at the time of registration.

What if there is low participation for the camp I selected?

Subject to change. A minimum participation of 4 campers is required for each session to proceed. Registrations are reviewed 48 hours prior to the session to confirm the necessary enrollment. Sessions lacking sufficient preregistered participants will be canceled, and affected participants will promptly receive notification and be given the option of a refund or rescheduling.

Are scholarships available?

We do not offer any partial or full scholarships for the summer camps at this point in time.

Is transportation included?

Transportation is included, and departs from our Ashland business office.
