MT. ASHLAND SKI AREA

From atop the Siskiyou Crest, Mt. Ashland provides terrain for skiers and riders of every ability. Founded in 1964 and operated by a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Mt. Ashland is Southern Oregon’s hub for outdoor recreation. With a peak elevation of 7,533′ and over 200 acres of skiable terrain, find your happy place amongst our steeper terrain in The Bowl, one of dozens of groomed runs, in one of our tree glades or at the Learning Center.

Located just eight miles from I-5 near the Oregon-California border, Mt. Ashland features a full rental shop (with ski and snowboard rentals and tuning), several dining options, the T-Bar Lounge, a retail shop, and ski school.

This winter, come see for yourself why Mt. Ashland is your local mountain playground!

It’s the Announcement We’ve All Been Waiting For! 🎉

The Mt. Ashland Team is thrilled to unveil the plans to replace Ariel and Windsor Chairlifts!

Years in the making, we are undertaking a transformative infrastructure project to replace these two vital components of our Mountain’s lift system that are now outdated, increasingly costly to maintain, and less efficient by modern standards.

The replacement project, kicking off in the Spring of 2026 will install two new fixed-grip triple chairlifts that will enhance access to key terrain, reduce lift lines, improve operational efficiency, and ensure a consistent and comfortable experience for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities. In addition, these modern lifts will be more energy-efficient and resilient to wind and weather.

The work on both Chairlift upgrades is confined to existing, previously disturbed lift corridors. No new terrain is being developed. Conservation measures will be followed to protect nearby habitats, protect soil and flowering resources, and mitigate ecological impacts. Tree removal is targeted and strictly for lift safety.

To learn more about the future of Ariel and Windsor, see additional images and get a more in depth look at the details about the project click the link in our bio!!

And have no fear, the mechanical rooms for both lifts will have the iconic red and green that our beloved Chairs are known for!!

Here’s to the future of Mt. Ashland Ski Area! 🥳

Our uphill access status has changed. Our takedown is complete and post-season restrictions are lifted. Be aware that sun and warm temperatures are taking a toll on snowpack and highly variable conditions exist.

Equipment and vehicles will still be active and users must stay at least 100 ft. away. Have the ability to self-rescue as no patrol services are available. Many natural and manmade hazards exist and all users are entering the ski area at their own risk.

To an extraordinary season! 🥹

It was the second busiest winter season on record and our skier and snowboarder visits grew 14% over the 5 year average!⛷️🏂

As many of you know, it was a challenging winter from the very beginning. Our ski patrol had Covid to the tree falling on Ariel and later on - a week long closure due to power outages and water challenges - but despite all of it, over 300 inches of snow fell over 90+ operational days! ❄️

To our Donors, Partners, Sponsors, our Staff who worked tirelessly to give you the very best of Mt. Ashland, and most importantly, you, our Guests…THANK YOU! We miss you all already 🥹❤️

Today is the LAST DAY to purchase your 25/26 Season Pass for up to $200 off and your only chance for 5 months of interest-free financing! Buy now so we can do this all again next year. 🎉

We have lots in the works coming and incredibly exciting news on the horizon that we can’t wait to share with you all! Early this summer we will have a virtual Town Hall where you can ask General Manager Andrew Gast anything so keep your eyes out for that! 👀

Cheers to an amazing season! We couldn’t have done it without you all!🫶🏼
