Klamath National Forest Closed to the Public

The Klamath National Forest is officially closed to the public until September 17th due to extreme fire danger. Mt. Ashland is in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest (RR-SNF), but you officially enter the KNF just beyond our back parking lot at the green gate (which is now closed and locked). This also means that the Mt. Ashland campground is closed.

Note: the front side of Mt. Ashland remains open to the public. This includes the parking lot, the trail to the summit, and the Bull Gap Trail. The RR-SNF has made no announcements regarding a possible forest closure.

Stay safe out there and please respect the Oregon Department of Forestry fire regulations in place to help protect our local forests. As of this writing, the ODF regulations include:
